Hagit Ofran, one of the coolest people we've met, works for APN by risking her life mapping settlements in the West Bank. We thought the whole world should see her work. The result: a cool app, and a ton of amazing news coverage.

We love Deval.

He was our breakthrough client. We ran his entire digital portfolio.

In '06 we worked with David Plouffe and David Axelrod to get Obama's campaign off the ground.

We still have the very first sign for Barack Obama for President hanging in our office.

We are thinkers first.

We are fun to work with, and when you hire us, you work with the senior team who did the work and accomplished what you see on this site.

Charles is the co-founder and President of Alipes, a Boston-based digital strategy firm whose clients range from Fortune 500 companies to leading politicians to international non-profit organizations. In 2006, he served as the director of new media for Deval Patrick for Governor where he introduced revolutionary online fund raising and organizing systems that helped build the biggest grassroots organization in the history of Massachusetts politics. He was subsequently retained by David Plouffe and Obama for America to coordinate the launch of the 2010 presidential campaign's new media efforts. Before forming Alipes CME in 2003, Charles worked independently, creating digital media and education strategies for clients such as The Gillette Company and MIT. He has an MFA in writing from the University of Arizona and a BA in history from the University of Rochester.

He joined up with Charles in 2006 and created the Community Tool, a piece of software that was integral to the successful campaign of Deval Patrick for Governor of Massachusetts. He works with each of our clients to discover how to combine the rich resources of existing software systems with a bit of technology creation to support their digital strategy goals. His command of internet technology is based not only on his SB degree in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT, but also on his foundational contributions to open source operating systems, compilers, and networking software.
